High-performance hoses and quick-connect fittings are vital for liquid cooling in modern data centers. At, Custom Hydraulics & Design we provide fail-safe thermal solutions for mission-critical data center environments across the Southeastern United States. We specialize in data center thermal management and liquid cooling systems, delivering UL94 V0-rated hoses, sanitary piping, and precision-engineered assemblies that keep your IT infrastructure running cool and safe.

Our team works with EPC firms, critical infrastructure procurement specialists, data center engineers, OEMs, and general contractors to design and supply the optimal cooling components – from Tri-Clamp sanitary connections to large chiller system hoses – all with rapid on-site delivery and expert support. We leverage in-house fabrication and industry-leading partners to ensure your facility’s cooling loop is efficient, reliable, and built to the highest standards.

Tube & Hose Fabrication – Engineered for Flexibility and Precision

We pride ourselves on comprehensive in-house capabilities for tube and hose assemblies, enabling fast turnaround and custom solutions without third-party delays. Our state-of-the-art workshops utilize CNC tube bending, forming, welding, and flaring for tubing up to 2 in. (55mm) in diameter, as well as high-capacity hose cutting, crimping, welding, and assembly up to 12 in. (320mm) in diameter. This means we can craft anything from small jumper tubes to large-diameter chiller hoses for facility water lines. Our engineering team uses SolidWorks CAD to design every assembly for a precise fit, allowing flexible component engineering tailored to your data center’s layout and equipment. We also accommodate both SAE and DIN connections, ensuring compatibility with international standards and OEM equipment. By handling design and fabrication under one roof, we maintain strict quality control and can iterate quickly on prototypes – delivering a solution that meets your exact specifications while minimizing installation time on site.

  • Precision CNC Bending (Tube up to 2")

Computer-controlled bending ensures accurate, repeatable shapes for hard lines, manifold tubing, and rack distribution lines. We achieve complex geometries without kinks, supporting tight space constraints in server racks.

  • Custom Hose Assembly (up to 12")

Our in-house hose shop fabricates large flexible hoses for main supply and return lines, complete with any required end fittings (flanges, cam locks, etc.). Each hose is cut, crimped, and tested to handle high flow rates and to integrate seamlessly with your liquid cooling system.

  • Welding & Fabrication

Certified welders handle tube welding and hose metal fitting welding (e.g., flange ends, threaded ends) with precision. We also offer bracketry and frame fabrication for mounting cooling components.

  • 3D CAD Design Integration

We use SolidWorks to model assemblies and run fit-up simulations. This virtual design process means we can often validate fit and make adjustments without needing a physical site visit, saving time. The result is a drop-in solution that aligns with your infrastructure on the first try.

  • Rapid Prototyping & Turnaround

Our integrated approach allows us to go from design to production quickly. Whether you need a one-off manifold for an expansion project or a batch of hose assemblies for a greenfield build, we deliver on aggressive timelines. We also maintain stock of common clamps, flanges, and fittings to support emergency replacements and maintenance operations.

High-Performance Hoses & Quick Connects – Built for Safety and Efficiency

Not all hoses are created equal. Data center environments demand hoses that can handle high flow rates, tight bending radii, and stringent safety requirements. At Custom Hydraulics & Design, we provide thermal management hoses and quick-connect fittings that meet the toughest specifications in the industry. For example, our partnership with Danfoss allows us to deliver hose assemblies with industry-leading specifications and UL94 V0 flame resistance ratings. A UL94 V0 rating means the hose self-extinguishes quickly if exposed to flame, an important safety factor in sensitive facilities with strict fire codes. These advanced hoses are also engineered for flexibility; they offer excellent kink resistance and a tight bend radius so they can be routed through server racks without collapsing. Available in multiple sizes and even color options, they help differentiate supply vs. return lines and blend into equipment as needed.

Another key feature of our hose solutions is compatibility with high-quality quick disconnect couplings. We supply no-leak, no-drip couplings that are 100% helium leak tested at the factory. This ensures absolutely minimal coolant loss during disconnects or reconnects, which is crucial when servicing live racks or swapping out equipment. The quick connects we offer have high flow designs with low pressure drop, meaning you can maintain cooling efficiency even with connectors in line. Many also come with push-to-connect or dry-break functionality, enabling one-handed operation and fail-safe mating that virtually eliminates accidental spills. By using such fail-safe solutions in your cooling system, maintenance becomes safer and faster, meaning a technician can isolate and service a liquid-cooled server blade without shutting down an entire loop.  Our hoses and connectors are chosen to be truly plug-and-play. For example, Danfoss’s hose series are compatible with easy push-on crimp fittings and are tested to work with standard coolant chemistries (like glycol blends) without degradation. The result is a set of thermal solutions that integrate seamlessly: flexible hoses, robust fittings, and quick couplings all working together to provide high coolant flow, easy serviceability, and confidence under maximum loads. Whether you’re running direct-to-chip liquid cooling or facility water loops to rear-door heat exchangers, we have hose assemblies that meet the challenge – delivering high performance while also meeting safety standards like UL94 V0 and beyond.

Open Compute Project Standards – Credibility Through Compatibility

In the rapidly evolving world of data centers, adhering to open industry standards is key to credibility and future-proofing. That’s why Custom Hydraulics & Design aligns its solutions with relevant Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications for cooling hardware. The Open Compute Project, founded by leading tech companies, sets rigorous open standards for data center equipment – including liquid cooling interfaces and components. By designing to OCP guidelines, we ensure our thermal management offerings can integrate into the most cutting-edge, hyperscale environments.

For instance, OCP’s marketplace includes contributions like the Parker Universal Quick Disconnect Blindmate (UQDB) coupling, a liquid cooling connector specifically designed for optimal thermal management that meets OCP specifications and uses a non-spill, blind-mate design. This reflects the industry’s consensus on what reliable, server-rack-friendly connectors should look like. Similarly, Intel’s open standard for blind-mate quick disconnects (referenced by OCP) underpins the importance of universally compatible couplings. We take cues from these developments, offering quick disconnect products that comply with or exceed such specs, thus ensuring interoperability.

Crucially, our major supply partners are deeply involved in OCP. Danfoss, for example, is a Solution Provider member of the Open Compute Project, actively working to standardize and improve liquid cooling hardware for data centers. By leveraging components from OCP-aligned manufacturers like Danfoss, we give our customers the confidence that our cooling solutions are vetted by a broad community and built to open standards. This credibility can be important when bidding on projects or seeking approval from stakeholders; using OCP-recognized designs signals that your data center is using proven, globally recognized technology.

In practical terms, alignment with OCP specifications means our hoses, fittings, and racks can mix-and-match with other OCP-compliant hardware without costly custom adapters. It means our quick disconnects engage perfectly with OCP-standard mating parts, and our system design philosophies echo the best practices shared at OCP. The result is a more future-proof thermal management system that can scale and adapt as open standards evolve. We stay abreast of OCP’s Cooling Environments project and other initiatives to continually integrate the latest recommended practices into our offerings. By choosing Custom Hydraulics & Design, you’re not only getting top-tier hardware but also the assurance that it aligns with the direction of the broader industry.

Engineered for Reliability, Cleanliness & Safety

Clean, stainless-steel braided hoses are prepared for shipment – each assembly is thoroughly tested and cleaned to prevent contamination. In high-density cooling applications, reliability and cleanliness are paramount – even a minor leak or contaminant can have serious consequences for expensive IT equipment. Our solutions are engineered for fail-safe reliability from the ground up. We build with materials like 316 stainless steel to ensure longevity in contact with typical data center coolants. Many liquid cooling systems use glycol/water mixtures to achieve safer operating ranges; however, glycol can degrade into acidic byproducts over time if overheating occurs. Using robust 316 stainless components throughout – in hoses, fittings, and valves – provides superior corrosion resistance against these acids, meaning they last longer than other materials in harsh coolant environments. This translates to fewer failures, less frequent replacement, and a more sustainable operation overall.

Our flexible metal hose assemblies exemplify the durability and performance needed for 24/7 operations. We often recommend corrugated stainless steel hoses (with an outer wire braid) for certain critical connections. These hoses are annularly corrugated and built with thin walls and compressed pitch-features that dramatically increase flexibility and cycle life. Unlike cheaper rubber hoses, which have a limited shelf life and can suffer from permeability and dry-rot, stainless hoses are essentially impermeable and do not age out in the same way. They can handle elevated temperatures and remain stable under continuous use. As long as a metal hose is properly installed and kept within its design limits, it can serve reliably for years. This kind of robustness is invaluable in an industry where uptime is everything.

Cleanliness is another focus area. Sensitive IT cooling loops require an operating environment free of debris, oils, and residue – any contamination can trigger corrosion or clog microchannels over time. To meet these needs, we supply hoses and components that are manufactured and prepared with cleanliness in mind. For example, Penflex, one of our metal hose partners, developed a “Clean ID” hose manufacturing process that eliminates internal lubricants and removes tooling residue, yielding a hose with an ultra-clean interior surface. We take similar care in our fabrication: all welded tube assemblies are argon-purged during welding, preventing oxidation on the inside of pipes which could flake off or weaken the welds. Every assembly is thoroughly flushed and, if required, mass spectrometer tested to detect any leaks or contaminants before it leaves our facility. We then bag or cap the ends of hoses and tubes to keep them clean during transit.

From a safety standpoint, our emphasis on UL94 V0 flame-retardant materials in plastic or elastomeric components (like hose covers or seals) adds an extra layer of protection. Using self-extinguishing materials minimizes fire risk in the event of any electrical or mechanical mishap involving the cooling system. We also incorporate fail-safe features such as pressure-relief valves and burst discs in custom manifold designs when appropriate, to guard against over-pressurization. The bottom line is a cooling solution you can trust: one that not only performs efficiently under normal conditions but also withstands and mitigates the unexpected, be it a power loss, a pump failure, or an external hazard.

Our goal is to streamline the procurement and implementation process so you can focus on your core project.

This on-demand delivery capability is ideal for maintenance, emergency repairs, capacity expansions, and even last-minute changes during greenfield construction. For example, if a critical cooling pipe or hose assembly fails unexpectedly, our team can rapidly reproduce or supply a replacement and deliver it to site, minimizing your mean time to recovery. Likewise, for planned expansions, we coordinate with your schedule to pre-fabricate assemblies (headers, hose kits, pump skid piping, etc.) and have them arrive as you need them. By delivering pre-engineered components that fit perfectly on arrival, we eliminate unnecessary downtime and rework during installation.

Moreover, we emphasize ease of installation and service in everything we deliver. As Danfoss notes about its approach to liquid cooling, a design that keeps installation simplicity in mind ultimately ensures smoother operations. Following that philosophy, our assemblies often include helpful features like laser-etched labels on hoses and tubes (for traceability and flow direction), pre-torqued clamps with breakaway bolts (so the proper tightness is achieved with no guesswork), and modular skid designs that can be expanded or modified with minimal disruption. Our field support team is also available to assist your contractors with any questions during installation – often avoiding the need for return visits or troubleshooting later.
